This is education, not advice

The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether either operation is appropriate for your thigh, your health or your circumstances.

No outcome is guaranteed

No operation can be guaranteed. Skin does not always retract after fat removal, a contour can develop a dip, a scar can widen, and a result is judged honestly months later rather than in the first weeks.

Scars are permanent

A thigh lift leaves a scar that does not disappear. It matures and softens over a year or more, and it may widen in this area because of movement and moisture. No surgeon can promise that a scar will be inconspicuous.

Revision is a separate operation

A further operation on a thigh that has already been operated on is a harder operation. It carries the risks of the first operation again with some of its own, and it does not restore the tissue that was removed.
